Freudo Arancio, 2002 Grillo
This is a white that we had at the movers Burger party. It is a good white. I had never tasted before. We had a couple of bottles on the self that Moxie had picked up at a wine tasting a while ago. It is a good white. Not sweet but not too dry or fruity. It is almost neutral. The label describes the wine as having a characteristic bouquet of nettle, green pepper, and jasmine. I do not know if I got any nettle, because I am not sure if I know what nettle smells like. I did not get Jasmine; I usually find that Jasmine is a perfume smell that I do not like, so if I smelled any of that I do not think I would have enjoyed it. The green pepper is such an obscure sell to associate. I have had some cabs that had overwhelming hot pepper bouquets this did not. It is a hard wine to explain. It was a good starter for the night. I think that if I were going to stick with whites this would have had to come later but since I was moving on to heavier wined this was a good one to start with.
